Donna has joined Carolina Holistic Medicine as the Head Nurse at our Murrells Inlet, SC location. She is a registered nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Southern Connecticut State University and a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from St. Joseph College of Maine. During her career, she has held positions as Assistant Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Patient Care at various assisted-living facilities.
Donna has over 23 years of nursing experience from a variety of specialties. Her clinical background includes Neurosurgery, Perioperative nursing and Gastroenterology during her employment of 12 years at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT. Donna has taught nursing on the collegiate level at Horry Georgetown Technical College as an Associate Professor.
Donna is extremely passionate about the practice of holistic medicine and the ability to treat the body and mind, as a whole, working in unison to achieve optimal wellness. Her studies have included a holistic nursing seminar in Ashville, NC presented by the International Integrative Health Institute.
Donna has lived in South Carolina for the past 4 years with her husband Stan and a very spoiled feline, named Madison. She is originally from Hamden, CT and very much enjoys the weather and coastal living in Murrells Inlet. She loves spending time at the beach and out on the water boating or kayaking. Other enjoyments include traveling, dining, cooking, dancing and singing.
